BibTeX field: pages
How to use the pages field in BibTeX?
The pages field is used to store page numbers or a page range. For a journal article it's the page range where the article can be found in the specific issue of that journal, or for a section in a book it could be a series of page numbers.
Tip: It is standard to use an en-dash (“--”) to separate a page range. This holds true for all entry types for which a page(s) can be defined. This is because even though some styles will natively replace a single dash with an en-dash during output, this is not guaranteed. Therefore it is best practice to get in the habit of using “--” for explicit “–”.
pages = "723--729" pages = "723--29" pages = "III-IX" pages = 23 pages = "34,37--39"
